SCBWI Arizona Julie M. Prince Fund

"It is my firm belief that kidlit folks are the kindest and most
generous people around, and I'm a passionate and dedicated member of the
kidlit community." Julie M. Prince

SCBWI Arizona has established the Julie M. Prince Fund to honor its member Julie M. Prince who passed away in June 2011. Donations to the Fund will be used to underwrite eligible SCBWI members wishing to attend an annual SCBWI AZ "Welcome to Our House" Conference or other events.

Julie M. Prince became a member of SCBWI in 2006. She was an active, devoted and hard working volunteer who helped with membership, conferences, and other regional events. She was a friend and a colleague to many people in the greater SCBWI community and was widely known by authors and writers all over the country for her interviews, book reviews, and networking efforts. As a writer, she was published in Highlights for Children, Learning Through History Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, and The SCBWI Bulletin. Prince was also a book reviewer for The Assembly on Literature for Adolescents, Teens Read Too, and YA (& Kids) Books Central.

Prince hailed from Columbus, Ohio and moved to Tucson, Arizona where she lived with her husband and two sons. She will be missed by her family, friends and colleagues.
